No one needs another business book. That’s why I created TURN.—to give you a framework to craft your personal career playbook.
Here’s how it works:
Ten years ago, I made it a priority to help people seeking career and job search coaching. By asking a few big questions and giving a bit of structure, everyone I helped ended up in a better place, with renewed purpose, increased confidence, and a clear path forward.
Everyone I helped fit into one of these three categories:
They were forced to deal with change and didn’t know the first step to take;
They were stressed and afraid of constant change and uncertainty;
They were tired, uninspired, and ready to change the road they were on.
These conversations led me to an epiphany: Are any of us taught how to manage our careers? No matter how educated, connected, or successful, few people know what to do when faced with uncertainty and disruption.
Realizing I had helped nearly a thousand people, I saw the potential to reach even more by putting my approach into an easy-to-follow framework. Many people said, “You should write a book!” So, I did.
During my 30+ years as a growth strategist and “agent of innovation” for leading businesses and disruptive startups, the use of principles and frameworks from Design Thinking, Innovation Strategy, Management Consulting and Brand Strategy were core to success. Combining these principles with my own experiences, I created a process that works.
Playbooks exist to put plans into action.
Great athletes and teams have a distinct brand, philosophy, goals, and a playbook to get there. Playbooks contain the team’s strategy, tactics, and approach—all in one place.
Remember the workbooks we had in school? This is your own career workbook - a personal playbook. It’s designed to guide you through a process that will help you develop a plan for your career and use it to get where you want to go—faster.
Each section is a step in the journey, with questions for you to consider and answer. You’ll be challenged to look in the mirror and be honest with yourself. But when you’re done, you’ll have a clear, custom plan—your own playbook.
This playbook is here to help you turn uncertainty and change into opportunities to reach the next level in your career and life. I hope it helps you create and act on your plan!

To start, grab a blank notebook or a notes app. I recommend an 8” x 11” Moleskine, the Penultimate app for iPad, a Google doc, or Evernote. Even a few sheets of paper from your office printer will work.
